Description
A newly appointed quality holiday cottage along The Green in Llansteffan with spectacular views of sandy beaches, the rising and falling tide and Carmarthen Bay. The waves provide a sight to remember at high tide, whether from the cottage balcony or from the cliff path that winds round to Scott's Bay. One sandy beach is only 30 metres from the cottage. Guests can relax on the balcony or in the colourful grass sitting area to the rear for exclusive use of the group of cottages and bathe in the small outdoor heated swimming pool (open 26 May to 15 Sept).
First floor: Accommodation comprises of an open-plan living room, kitchen and diner on the first floor to make the most of the spectacular estuary views. Balcony doors make the living room light and airy and the table, chairs and planted baskets on the balcony provides the perfect spot to watch the world go by. Trains can be seen following Brunel's railway route around St. Ishmael's headland on the opposite side of the estuary.
The kitchen is complimented by brand new Sheraton oak fitted units and new Neff appliances including a double oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Imagine sampling Towy sea bass, sewin or locally reared salt marsh lamb with a subtle wine to round off the day.
The comfortable living room to the front overlooks Llansteffan's main beach. It has a three seater sofa, reclining leather easy chairs, digital TV and DVD player and Internet access, and wonderful views of the changing tides, the herons, kite-boarders and fishing boats venturing out to sea.
Ground floor: Front door and hallway leading to one bedroom with a new Sleepmaster backcare royale double bed offering ideal support and comfort, one bedroom with Sleepmaster orthocare single bed and a child's folding bed or travel cot if required. The bathroom has a full-size bath, Mira electric shower, wash basin, towel rail, shaver point and WC.
Llansteffan is a picturesque and friendly village, overlooked by the magnificent Norman castle on the headland, which has attracted famous artists including Turner and poets including Dylan Thomas in years gone by. A scenic cliff path leads to Scott's Bay and St Anthony's Well, which was on the pilgrims route to St Davids. For the energetic visitor, the locality offers sailing, fishing, cockle gathering, tennis, horse-riding, coastal rambles and cycling. A wealth of attractions are within easy reach such as Carreg Cennen castle, National Botanic Garden, Aberglasney historic house and garden and a programme of activities within the Pembrokeshire Coast and Brecon Beacons National Park.
